Help Students Help the Missionaries of God Soup Kitchen

On a mission to help the homeless community of Dover, NJ, the Arts Department of the Civics and Government Institute is running a donation drive this month. The donations they receive will go to the Missionaries of God Soup Kitchen, named after the church that houses the organization. The soup kitchen’s proprietors, Venetta and Joann, serve meals to about 75 people a day. The beneficiaries of the soup kitchen do not receive assistance from the town, so they rely heavily upon the soup kitchen for support.

New and gently used donations of the following are needed:

  • jackets & coats
  • mittens, scarves, hats, socks
  • shoes
  • complete camping tents
  • sleeping bags
  • water-proof tarps
  • toilet paper
  • plastic ware
  • paper plates, cups, bowls

All donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off in Room 306 during periods 2-4 or on the porch of 530 Grove Street. Contact Linna Griffin with any questions or comments at GriffinLinna@Gmail.com
